My engine bay as it stands currently (I know, you're all sick of seeing it by now!...

In place of the faff of relocating the coilpacks, I'm weighing up getting some of the Holley 2 piece valve covers that hide the coilpacks. This keeps things OEM (desirable when I've changed so much other stuff) and keeps a nice clean look (desirable when I've changed so much stuff in the pursuit of looks!)

This leaves me with a style choice that I'll throw open to the floor, whereby it shall remain a democracy until I make up my mind hehe Choices are either Chevrolet script or a finned finish (not interested in the Holley logo being on there), and then either natural or polished silver to match the heads / how it looks now, chevy orange to match the block, or black to match the intake manifold.

I'm sort of liking all three colour options, I may have a leaning towards finned orange, but would be interested in thoughts...

Natural

Polished

Orange

Black

I'd go finned, and whatever finish is the closest match to your heads.

I know it's technically a Chevy engine, but it's not in a Chevrolet so having 'Chevrolet' on the covers would look weird in my eyes.

Agree on the finned.

I was initially pretty keen on the orange look, but I'm starting to come around to your way of thinking, going with the natural finish that will fairly closely match the heads. Perhaps I should also consider that the headers will be a shiny finish so that'll have an impact on how the whole thing looks.

It's the orange fuel rails that are making me lean toward the natural as well, someone commented in my build thread that I could end up with too much orange hehe

I was also already happy with how it looks with those covers that are on there, I think if they were a more natural finish like the heads instead of polished it'd look pretty tidy scratchchin

James it has to be black for me...finishes it off nicely and a slight contrast too!

You'll be surprised to hear that despite clearly being wrong about the yellow calipers ( wink ), I find my self agreeing with you on the black for the rocker covers.

I've been looking at some pictures of LS engines dressed up with orange block, bare head and orange rocker covers and because of the black intake manifold, it doesn't work as well for me as those with black covers.

I also think the wiring for the injectors etc. will be better hidden with the black as I've wrapped it black, whereas it'd possibly stand out against the orange...
