It doesn't look like an LS2 pump, more like LS3

If you remove it, there will be a part number somewhere.
Also, always best to buy genuine GM or Delco etc...avoid aftermarket stuff.

If it's an L98 it's not from a Monaro. Feasibly from a VE of some description, but I think the VE R8s we got over here are just either LS2 or LS3.
The L98 is a bit of a mish mash, it's effectively an LS2 bottom end with LS3 top end (almost, not exactly the same, the valves are heavier)
You should have some casting numbers visible for the heads which would be the easiest way to verify which engine it is.
Either way, unless you need the car daily, pull the water pump off and get the part number from it, much easier. As above, use RockAuto with the FedEx shipping where you pre-pay the import duty, it'll be with you in a few days.
If you are near Northampton, I have a water pump from an LS2 Monaro, you're welcome to borrow it to compare and verify that it's not what you're after

Looks like there is a changeover for the VE V8 Holdens in 2008 2009. My searching indicates it is an earlier one pre 2008/2009
I recommend all the above, try and get the part number from the actual part then raid Rockauto.
I went into a tailspin looking at different numbers for it.
Question for the forum, does the engine number help or is that irrelevant?? or the actual VIN of a car (car that has given up its engine) help when trying to research a part number for an engine swapped car?
