Hi everyone.

just picked up my black 6.0 VXR. Getting used to it after owning a 500bhp mkiv supra....

Anyway, what can be modified on the car that wont affect the warranty?.

As I get more used to this car I feel I need to hear more of the V8 burble etc....etc.

Already seen a tuner in EVO mag that can do some mods but I dont want to compromise the warranty.

Might do the odd track day but will stick with the Noble M12 for that.

thanks
Mike

You will need about £4k's worth of brakes for sure, AP 6 pots...

I did hear that they might not be up to the job, however I would have thought the 2005 car would be sorted.

I've not really tested the brakes yet.....

Get yourself a full exhaust system for starters.

£2K got me 34bhp last month with no other mods. and the promise of another 25bhp when I go back to get the re-map.

If you drive fast get the brakes sorted. They are not up to the job really and just about the only bad point of the car.

Mike, when you've got some spare time, search this forum as all you queries will probably have been dicussed in detail. Also a great way to learn more about your fabulous car. awww.hsv.org.uk/topic.asp?t=187023&f=69&h=28b for example on page 5 covers the issue of mods. & warranties.
Hope you are enjoying the car.

Hi Mike, are you the guy I spoke to last week in W'ville when I pulled alongside on my motorbike? You said you had collected the car that day. If so,I gotta tell you I thought I was seeing things when I saw a Monaro up ahead of me at the lights. Great to see it. Welcome aboard.

Hiya Mike

You could have a listen to mine but possibly too loud for your testes but might give you an idea where not to go. ukhsv (Chichester) might have what you want.

I'm in Locksway Road Milton, just past the rubber ramada hotel!

Will

NB won'y get the car back to the w/e though.

If you want to hear exhausts on song, be at WRC/Silverstone on the Saturday

The full Milltek system I have is not very loud, but much better than stock and the warranty remains.

After I did a big single conversion on my Supra it had plenty of varied noises.

My VXR is a bit quiet so need to get some more sound and popping going.....

Have already spoken to WRC so the ball is rolling....I knew I couldnt survive for long!?!

Not strictly true!!!!![/quote]

Why is that?

1) It is not very loud.

2) It is far better quality than the stock item.

3) The car is more powerful on the dyno., the engine is smoother than before and goes better.

4) Vauxhall told me that the warranty would remain, other than anything directly connected with the exhaust---which is covered by the aftermarket supplier.

We have a demo with the 2005 Wortec system fitted. It sounds great, she burbles and pops and bangs on overrun, sounds great under power and dosn't drown your lugs off . We're only just down the road in Southampton, pop down and have a listen, we can advise on other stuff too.
PS We are a Vauxhall Dealer.

maverick964_uk, if you live in Basingstoke, you're less than 3 miles from me. If you want to look & listen to a WRC exhaust, just let me know. It won't be exactly the same as I have a Commodore, but it's not going to be far off.
