Evening All. I was wondering if anyone here has had their AP big brake set up refurbed. I am looking to take my calipers off soon and have found a guy who is actually recommended by AP to do the refurb (I think he's their official go to guy)

I'm planning on having mine stripped down, new pistons and seals where needed, fully flatted and repainted and ceramic coated sealed for a bit of longevity, They will also repaint the AP logo in white as they came from the factory. That said, I am really tempted to get the calipers painted in a different colour (making sure its a factory stock colour).

I have a black HSV Ro and calipers are obviously red currently.

Opinions please all

Yellow would go nicely against the black car IMO.

If you like the idea of yellow brakes, go for it! Your car, your choice.
It won't look wrong against the black car. I think it will look great.
Don't worry about originality either, IIRC your car is far from standard already.

Personally I'm loving the idea of yellow brakes. I had yellow calipers on my Accord Type R and that was Pirates Black, so they really stood out. I think yellow with AP Racing logo in black would look epic but still factory, albeit not red (sorry James!)

Factory AP or factory Holden colour? I've got R35 GT-R calipers on mine and they are a very similar colour to Fusion, which was a Holden factory option.

Not quite as in your face as bright yellow, but still stand out on a black car.

I think AP also did some McLaren calipers in various shades of gold/orange from the factory, so maybe that's an option.

Nice one. Do you find those calipers better than the AP's? I haven't seen that brake conversion on a Monaro before

Thanks, I designed the brackets to fit them myself. Unfortunately, I haven't driven a car with APs so I can't compare but the GT-R discs are 380mm compared to 362mm for the APs and the GT-R pads are substantially larger. Probably overkill for the road, but I fancied doing something different! It's a bit of a tight fit with the standard wheels.

Yeh certainly looks like a tight fit!

Who is this guy if you don't mind me asking? Looking at getting mine sorted in the not too distant future. Cheers
