Hi,

Incredibly my Monaro still has its original factory exhaust and it's time for a change.

Has anyone got any experience of the Borla cat backs for the 2004 cars i.e. exhaust exits to the left ? There's one on eBay at the moment that has got me thinking...

The car is my daily and I do a lot of motorway cruising and sitting in traffic. I don't want anything that drones or is too loud / antisocial. I'm just looking for something that sounds a bit more V8 and that might help the engine breathe a bit better.

Thanks.

if you are happy with it then go for it , on line they appear popular , main thing is it stainless steel ? it will be a fair bit louder than standard , if it’s too loud you could always get some extra silencers welded in

There's single sided wortec exhaust on ebay also , this has interchangeable silencers that you swap in/out for straight through pipes. Been for sale for a long time so they may take an offer.

Ps: not mine

Could always get something custom made by someone like Powerflow. They can add cutouts so you can have it quiet or loud when the mood takes?

Hi,

I had that exact system on my big boot single side exhaust 04 monaro for 6 years.

the fit and finish spot on, had no problems with it at all, i had mine mated to some long headers and sports cats the sound was perfect i dont know what it sounds like just from the cat back but it was a solid bit of kit and lined up well.
