At least on the LS2 Monaro kit, there's no actual silencers as such, but the pipes do have some internal baffling as far as I'm aware, these contribute to making it sound the way it does but will reduce the volume a little bit. I think they also help with reducing any drone.
I think Goldie with his VXR8 basically cut out the sections of the system that had the baffling in and replaced with straight pipe. The system sounded less, erm, distinctive or basically less like a Wortec, but in terms of pure noise it was appreciably louder.

No, no headers fitted. I guess that's the way forward then!
I have full Wortec system (Monaro) had the catback first then headers later, I can definitely recommend as the difference in sound is night and day! The Wortec system in my opinion is one of the best out there, perfect sound and no drone when cruising.
I fitted a Badlanz system back end of last year and I can heartily recommend. Really good quality and Charles who runs Badlanz could not be any more helpful if he tried. Nothing was too much trouble. My car went from pretty mild to utterly insane at the touch of a button. Mines on a variable switch that's hidden in the centre console, so I can vary how much the throttle opens by, as on fully open, i'd be likely to end up in jail
Makes the car absolutely come alive as my Ro is supercharged and it utterly changes its personality.
If i can post up my vid you can hear it for yourself
