Hi
Has anyone there had dealings with them.
I ask as my monaro has been with them for months now, transported there by my local garage for repairs and I am having not a lot of luck contacting them to ascertain the state of play.
Thanks for any replies.

Have you tried ringing them? 01608 646696 is their number.
Alternatively, Dave is pretty active on Facebook.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Walkinshaws to anyone. Dave could not be any more helpful and is a real gent as is Ken Page. I wouldn't trust my anyone else with my Ro and more importantly they are fair and highly trustworthy.

Did you get this sorted?

As above, I've only got positive things to say about them.

Thanks for replies.
I have tried calling a few times and realise they could be busy but left messages twice asking to be called back hence enquiring about them

Thanks.

I can also recommend Top Cats racing who aren't far from them. Handy as they do their own MOTs.

I've had lots of work done by them (very recently in fact) and while Dave can be hard to reach persistence pays as they say.

Maybe try an email.

Dave has always been very helpful and knowledgeable regarding parts and what particular issues might be and need.
I would definitely recommend them in this respect.

A further up date on my woes and a call for possible alternatives please.

I have spoken to Dave Elston at Walkinshaw Performance concerning the issues with my Monaro which are Ecu based.

From our conversations it seems to be an issue caused by the sale of Vaxhaull to PSV and rights to certain information needed to sort the Ecu which involves themselves Hsv and Gmc.

Basically if they can`t get the info together from all parties involved it seems the only way forward is to ship the Ecu etc to Australia and have it done there.

What I am asking for is perhaps an alternative, any suggestions from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe Luis Sola can assist, are you a member of the LS Remote Tuning UK page on FB?

What are the actual issues?

As above, Luis Sola (or another tuner) may be able to help you out. By being 'official', Walkinshaw's hands will be tied to doing things legitimately.

The ECU is conveniently mounted on the strut tower, so at least removing it is quite literally a 30 second job hehe

Thanks for the replies.

Issues ??
Vehicle developed an intermittent starting /running fault which my local garage deemed to be ecu/immobiliser fault.

Sometimes it would start fine others not at all turned into a lottery whether or not it would go.

Garage sent it away don`t know where, to get tested but still same problem and eventually found its way to Walkinshaw and as stated previously they have been trying through various channels to sort it.

I don`t do facebook but have put in a request to join The LS tuning group to see if there is any solution there.

Thanks.

This being that when you turn the key, it does literally nothing at all?

I wonder if it could be something as simple as the clutch switch having failed or a dodgy connection, as without the clutch depressed the car won't start (which can be turned off in the tune)

Hope you get it sorted relatively easily anyway, although sounds like you've already had some fun with it.

Mine doesn’t either (July 04 build VY), and neither did my old VZ (Dec 04)

Wonder if it was the 2005 MY?

Possibly an LS2 thing then, that's a different generation of engine computer so perhaps was an added 'feature' from then on.

Glad you're all sorted.
Out of interest, what was the cure? Did you get the ECU sent over to Australia for re-programming like you thought?
