Hi again, This will be my Third Aussy V8, before I had HSV GTS blue, and then HSV GTS/R black both I think still around, but I ramble on.

I have now a Vaux.... Monaro VXR in Quicksilver 2007 ?(built in2005 Aus) Build Number 0243 with no mods whatsoever and 52000 miles.. over the next months will be tidying it up so looking for parts and services in the Northampton area. It is also not loud enough. Used to do meets, and Aussy day at the Ace Cafe does this still happen.
I have also changed my login a bit. ,,,,,so looking foward to rumbling about.

Congrats Alan!

I’ve just bought a Black VXR Monaro myself. Hopefully getting it on Thursday. Look forward to seeing some pics! I like them in Silver. Not many cars car pull off silver but the VXR can!

Hey! Nice to see somebody bought that car. I test drove it a few weeks ago and was appalled at the state it had dilapated to over the years the past owner was looking after it. Looked great from a distance but a closer inspection revealed so many issues (I have loads of close up photos). At least the issues were mostly cosmetic but the spongey brakes were alarming. The owner said his friend had just serviced the brakes so clearly hadn't done a great job! I test driven 5 examples now and yours was the only one with the stock exhaust and it was very underwhelming.

I've paid a deposit on a black CV8 which I should be picking up next Thursday, so will finally join the Monaro owners club. smile

Hi Yes you are so right abut the rough bits and cleanliness of it knocked it down a bit , I have been working through the snag list. Good clean inside and out never seen so many spiders,, working on the brakes at the moment needs disks and pads . After the HSV GTS x 2 I owned the at least is sound underneath so will keep plodding on with small jobs to get it done... or as the pension allows!!!!!

Good on you Alan, at least there will be a sense of satisfaction when you get the car looking better than when you bought it 👍. Having nothing to do is boring #petrolhead
