Its proving a bit difficult to get a good tune with my throttle bodies on the stock ecu ,so I'll be going over to a stand alone si it can be mapped to TPS as load.

I will then have an EFI live tuner with one license for an ecu, also my unlocked ecu, surplus to requirements, if its of use to anybody.

Good luck. I have a friend who's Ls1 lotus purred like a kitten on the GM ecu. Then he fitted TB's but it wasn't quite as good so he went DTA and got milked paying for the RR and a well known mapper. It was never right or as smooth as the Gm ecu. In fact it was pants.

After many visits he gave up and dismantled the car, sold it off etc. It was a handcrafted car as well, a real beauty. The lesson he/I learned was to stick with the GM product if possible. It has huge 'capacity' built in.

What problems have you had?

And you cannot operate the GM ecu with TPS as the main load ?

Surely EFILive or HP allow you to dump the MAF and run in TPS vs RPM as the main load parameters ?

Although going aftermarket opens up a lot more flexibility.

If you havent done so already, maybe a call to Carl Herkes/Luis Sola might be an idea? Luis is pretty clued up to most situations. Im assuming you are on cable throttle with an LS1 (0411) ECU.

Its been without the maf for years. I don't think its particularly easy to do tps as load on its own.

Anyhow I want to run dual widebands , and replace the 22 year old wiring. Haltech do a plug in harness for the LS1

Easy then.

I believe Maxxecu also offer a plug in for some models too.

If you've got the 0411 ECU (red/ blue connectors) then I think you can run on TPS loading (Alpha-N) using EFI Custom Operating System 5 (COS5), it should be table A0007 for TPS VE table.

Also within EFI I think you can run two widebands as there PIDs for them, but if using serial connection it might only work with a of the few wideband controllers.

Its worth talking to Carl & Louis, I bought my EFI controller from Carl and Louis mapped it remotely. What’s the tuning issue you’re having?

The point of the thread is that Ill have a 'spare' efi live tuner with a licence and an already unlocked ECU.

So the efi live is sold.

Car now has the haltech elite 2000 ECU with dual widebands on closed loop, and tps as load, also had the generic LS1 loom put in, as the wiring was 22 years old and quite crispy in some places. Its a bit long in some places for these cars.
The car has never run better since putting the cam in. The more I drive, the better the fuel map gets. Every now and then You can just save the long term fuel trims to the map to clean it up even more.

Ive still got a little to do on warm up correction when outside temp is under about 8 degrees, and mount it up in the glovebox, and ill add a dash next year when ive saved a bit more.
