Hi there, i have a VXR8 with a leak from the power steering rad, this rad is a combined power steering and A/C which is a new one on me, can you get it repaired as the only one online was £900, i could bypass it but would leave me with no A/C

Is the radiator leaking or a fitting ? I had leaking A/C and it was an O ring in one of the fittings that was leaking.

i did not even know it was in there , rock auto appears to list a number of options the gm replacement the most expensive is shown as 227£ not including p and p and shipping worth going via fed ex and see what the fully landed cost is , option 2 can you just add a standard cooler into the power steering pipe work same sort of set up as a monaro ?

When I had the same problem with my VXR8, Monkfish simply left the existing rad in pace and plumbed in a separate cooler for the power steering, effectively blanking off the bit on the bottom of the rad.

Cant remember what cooler they used - might have been something from a Monaro from memory - but bolted it to the back of the bumper crash structure and was fine for years thereafter.

I do remember that it was a hell of a lot cheaper than a new rad!

Just to add, it had no effect on the A/C - didn't to need to regas or anything.

monaros use a simple loop thats finned to cool the pas , usually fails and people either use a oil cooler style or mishimoto style from driftworks or simular. you may be able to retro fit that

if not look at rock auto and always go fed ex with all duties paid
