Which battery would people suggest?

I'm pretty sure the battery will be the same as the Monaro, which the correct size and type is the '027'.
Many people will fit a type 096, it does fit but not correctly. It either sits on top on the tray, or the tray needs its edges bending flat.
I fitted what I considered to be an excellent 027 - Exide Premium 64Ah 640CCA. This is/was about as powerful as the 027 gets.
You do not need the extra power of the 096, but it is up to you. It is not a large diesel motor!
