New petrol - Are we compatible?
Discussion
Only heard today about this new fuel we will soon be seeing on forecourts (more here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/e10-petrol-explained#c...
I assume most of us will simply keep using super unleaded, but if you have no option it would be good to know if it's OK.
Anyone heard anything as I don't trust the checker?

I was thinking about this the other day. E10 will be on sale from September so how long it will be before regular 95 will be unavailable I'm not sure.
Mind you I run on 95 most of the time as I can never tell the difference between Tesco 99 or regular 95 anyway. Hopefully Monaro's will be E10 compatible ?

I expect they'll be fine, the fuel line back to front is metal, there's a bit of hose at each end, both of which are easily replaceable with AN fittings if they do suffer for some reason, can't see the rest of it being a problem, loads of people run LS engines on E85.Mind you I run on 95 most of the time as I can never tell the difference between Tesco 99 or regular 95 anyway. Most, if not all modern vehicles use nylon fuel lines, which are already resistant to ethanol.SturdyHSV said:

Yes, I think you're right, the c5 Corvette and other LS engines seem to be OK.Gassing Station | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
