Hello, anyone on here have the tool for aligning the rear subframe on a Monaro/commodore vt , To rent or buy ?
They are available from the states but at $295 + post and shipping it’s worth an ask on here first

Sorry not been on for a while as on a course.

When I recently dropped the whole back end of mine i made a copy of the tool . I did seem to work and was a nice small tap with a hammer to fit in the gaps .
The only thing is it was done to whatever my chassis was, Im presuming it would have been as it left the factory ?? so if it was wrong there then mine is wrong.

However i did use it to put it all back and has recently been on an alignment and everything checked out .

Basically I'm prepared to lend it out for free but ask you drop a donation into a charity for whoever uses it .

I can get it bubble wrapped up its around a metre long and when wrapped it'll be around 30cm round and prob 10kg

What probably will help is having it checked on another car and see how it compares .
Fred you seem the first to get in touch , Bit of a sod as had a mate drive to kent last week .

Any how i'll be in touch when back to Cornwall and we can sort out courier.

I've used parcel monkey to send loads of stuff, if it's 1m wide it might trip in to a different pricing bracket but so far for me everything has been the same ~£7 with DHL collecting it from you next day and delivery the day after.

Not sure where everyone is but I'm basically on J15 of the M1 if we want to do any sort of parcel relay hehe

Monaro is up on stands with the wheels off if anything wanted to be checked thumbup

Should be able to offer it up in a week or so. Just waiting on a pair of rockers and the top end is all back together, then I can drive it to work where I can do the bushes on a ramp.

If it is not to presumptuous of me could I ask to join the queue to borrow your alignment tool? I am happy to make a donation to a charity of your choice?

I’ve just finished the trialing arm bushes on my car now.

So if Dan is happy for me to do so, I’ll post it onwards. It did fit up nice and snug.

One thing to note is the large bolts through the centre of the big subframe bush is no longer available even in Australia.
Wretched motorsport in the US has got some made up in high tensile as opposed to torque to yield so you can re use them.

Yeah Absolutely . Same as last time anyone who wants to use it drop a donation to a good cause and get that warm fuzzy feeling . angel
If the next person can give a rough idea on here where they are so as others may want to collect , would be nice for whoever sends it on to let me know exactly where it is as a private message.

I've had several rear ends in and out and never used one. Never had a problem, is it really that necessary?

As the holes in the bushes allow a lot of movement, I reckon it's worth it, yes.
Is it necessary ? Maybe not. Is it necessary to have an alignment done ? maybe not. Is it necessary to change Oil? maybe not.

Your car ,your choice.
