Is something happening in the UK Monaro world??

Hi guys

I don't know if I'm just being paranoid but it seems like in the UK, the shutters are being pulled down on all things Monaro. There's very, very little on Ebay, LSX V8 won't do LS1 and LS2 anymore (we'll that's what he said to me), previous Monaro breakers are telling me they never were and they don't have ANY parts as if I'm the Monaro Secret Police and as we know some tuners have stopped supplying parts.

Is there something happening that I don't know about ?

LOL Ive always found it like this since I bought my holden 5 years ago, I just import anything I need for it now. It works out similar cost anyhow.

Its symptomatic of any car around 20 years old, I think.

The LS1/LS2 etc is used in hundreds of models, far more numerous than the Monaro, it's just most of them weren't sold in the UK hence the comparative scarcity.

If anything I'd say there's more LS stuff over here than ever before as more and more people import the engines to sell as demand for them is high.

Parts wise, they're an old car and bits aren't made for them any more, so they'll be scarce, no conspiracy beyond that. Don't forget Holden hasn't existed for a few years now, so even less likely to have old parts available.

Things are certainly difficlut depending on what you want. Rock Auto in the states still have plenty of stuff listed, some of it very cheap, just look under Pontiac GTO. 2004 is LS1 and the 2005 will be LS2. Stuff like body kit panels for the VXR are getting rare but cars keep popping up for breaking. If there is something you need just ask on here or any of the FB pages devoted to Monaros and VXR8s.
