Wortec Exhaust
Discussion
Hi guys
Anyone know how to get in touch with Wortec re "lifetime" warranty? As mine has just lost back box due to metal fatigue....sound great though
Anybody else had similar problem?
Looked for Wortec website but only one I found had no mention of exhausts

I got in touch with them too and sadly they weren't very helpful
Apparently it never was a lifetime warranty and the only way they would fix it was if I drove 200 miles to them without a back box and couldn't do it until July 14th and wanted my Ro for a week!
Ended up going to Powerflow and had back box replaced with a straight pipe....sounds awesome and legal too

The only way to do this is go back to who ever fitted it . I had problems with the flanges rotting away .I tried contacting wortec not much help .In the end took it back to vauxhall burton, who fitted it (complete system). They where brilliant car went into them stripped the parts of then sent to wortec came back with new flanges etc . I think i had to pay fitting but not sure hope this helps.

Mine had the same problem but WP fitted new ones for me only about 6 months ago.
Thats because the flanges were mild steel not stainless.Mine had the same problem but WP fitted new ones for me only about 6 months ago.
Shame, because it sounds fantastic, especially with my new AAS headers and cats. Might give it another year and get Stuart and co to build a new one...
“H pipe or X pipe, that is the question” (W. Shakespeare, May1596)
My CV8 is, remarkably, still on its original factory exhaust and after 90,00 miles shows no significant corrosion.
A new exhaust has been on my list for years so it's about time I treated the car to something more aurally exciting. It's a shame AAS are so busy at the moment. Does anyone have any recommendations for custom exhaust shops in the East Midlands?

There's an HSV / Holden meet at STG Performance on the 17th July from 9, they've got a fancy VXR8 exhaust to show off they've made and will be swapping between X pipe and H pipe to demonstrate the sound difference, with without silencers and things, could be very informative.
From my limited exposure, X pipe is the Wortecy howl up top but a bit 'messier' at low revs, the H pipes gives more of the older AMG woofle type exhaust note, a bit more old school.

Based on that...H-Pipe all the way for me!
Apparently it also affects the power gains...X-pipe gives more horsepower at the top end whereas H-pipe has more torque and slightly less horsepower (probably speaking 1 or 2 HP/Nm here, so it's all relative)
Yeah performance wise it's frankly irrelevant unless you race competitively or pub figures are all that matters.Apparently it also affects the power gains...X-pipe gives more horsepower at the top end whereas H-pipe has more torque and slightly less horsepower (probably speaking 1 or 2 HP/Nm here, so it's all relative)
I'm going up for a listen as I think I'm likely to go H pipe for the wagon, I'll be supercharging it down the line so it'll make 'enough' power regardless.
The Monaro is an X pipe just because I picked up a 3 inch system from MyM8V8 and on that build I am somewhat trying to maximise horsepower as I'm hoping to break 600 NA
I think it's a really good idea that they've got. Exact same car and same exhaust apart from X or H-pipes so you eliminate all other variables.
I wont be able to make it down, but it would be good if someone got a good quality video of it.

So pub numbers!! HahaHere’s the cat back system I’m considering having made, with an H-pipe mid propshaft position.
At the moment I have AAS headers and cats, a Wortec cat back, with the centre silencers in place and it sounds pretty good. Effectively I’ll be replacing the X with an H and losing the small rear silencer (on the current system)
Any insight into a) the volume level, and b) the sound difference?
Cheers

Absolutely 500rwhp perhaps a more authentic target, although with the money I've spent on it whilst building it, sticking it in the back of the Ute and taking it to an engine dyno wouldn't be off the cards.
But yeah, entirely just a silly figure to aim for!

I'm afraid I can't tell you anything more than you probably already know.At the moment I have AAS headers and cats, a Wortec cat back, with the centre silencers in place and it sounds pretty good. Removing the rear silencer will increase the volume, but I can't say by how much.
And replacing the X-Pipe with a H-Pipe should give you a lower bass-ier note than the X-pipe which gives you a raspier note at the top end
