May I suggest you put it in writing to an appropriate person at Vauxhall, I am sure if it raises valid points you should expect a reply in the due course of time, always works for me. Really if it concerns after sales issues your dealer should act on your behalf initially. Just an opinion on my part and sorry if I have misinterpreted your problems, they do need reg maintenance/cleaning.
Re: brakes it's a big heavy car, so it is not the brakes fault really, maybe their inadequate specification for spirited driving applications.
For me it was just a matter of taking it on the chin and upgrading, certainly worth £4k or even twice that amount, having paid £7.5k, cough...
panoma has larger discs than mine, so I can only imagine the difference but then he has 19" wheels.
Performance pads and different discs coupled with ss braided hoses might be a more acceptable option

I went that option plus higher spec fluid, on my VT2 Clubby and it made the world of diff for my "spirited road driving". Furthermore (and back on the complain to Vauxhall topic) & cannot agree more with the "put it in writing" comments. It take persistance though & I strongly recommend writing a constructive, but firmly critical letter to Vauxhall, (such a great car, let down by a simple aspect, repeat business from you or your motoring friends unlikely unless sumfin done, etc etc) copy it to the dealer & to HSV Clayton (+613 9265 9555) as they designed the spec in the 1st place. You will get an answer once the slow beurocratic cogs turn but be prepared to keep following it up & don't loose yr cool with them. beleive me.. it does work & a recent experience I've had prooves it... I've been a loyal HSV customer for over 10 years & my car was off the road last month for 3 weeks cos a simple circlip busted on the 5th gear shaft in my Tremec T56 box. Bringing the car to the UK voided my warranty (it would of still been under warranty in Oz) so there I am looking at a very expensive rebuild or a minimum £6K of my hard earned to get a new one through Vauxhall. I wrote a stern letter of complaint to HSV (copied to Holden & my Oz dealer) and eventually they shipped me a replacement box (I had to pay the TNT cost). They could of taken the typical "impersonal" corporate line and said "sorry mate.. nuffin we can do" (this was their initial response by the way) but I persisted and the David beat Goliath in the end. HSV's cred in my eyes was on the line & to their credit they kept a loyal customer very happy (and very loyal). I have to say too that Bellinger Vauxhall in Grove (Monaro/VXR dealer next to Williams F1) went above & beyond in helping me through this issue & did a rapid & excellent job in removing & replacing the box & loaning me a car for the whole time - awesome service - can't speak highly enough of them.

I am not totally impressed with the brakes on my car, but I will not be complaining beacause it is so good in other ways and a great buy at the price.
Not too many other 2005 cars in the UK market offer you the Detroit 'real deal' engine and plenty of spec. for under 40 grand.
I have just bought an R400 Caterham and have little dosh, so the brakes will have to do for now.

Totally agree - there's almost nothing on this car that you could seriously say "that's not value for money" - rather than moan to Vauxhall we should be praising them for having the balls to get this car in to the UK at all :wink:
