Hi all, not been on recently as bike projects have taken over my life but I was out in the monaro at the weekend and noticed the PDC was not beeping so I checked the reversing lights and they were also not working so I presume the switch has failed as it did start working and stopped again. Anyone got an idea where i can get one i did have a look on the net but all the ones that came up were out of stock, the car is a Monaro 6 LTR VXR . Many thanks.

auto or manual ?

On manual it's on the side of the gearbox near the drivers left foot area.

I thought all monaros were manual boxes but I could be wrong but thanks for the info. Good find Lincsls I have tried to order one but they do not post to Isle of Man, I have sent him a message worst case I will, get it sent to a friend in the UK and they can send it over to me. Many thanks for the help.

No problem. I can't promise it'll fit, but a quick search suggests it should do.
You thought right, all Monaro sold in the UK were manual only, no auto option available.

Its definitely worth a punt as I couldn't find one last night when I looked, any ones I found were coming up out of stock but they looked exactly the same as the one you found. I really appreciate your help with this.

Edit:

Picture is upside down, so I suppose I should say gearbox is on the ceiling at the moment, so let me know either way... hehe

That's the reverse lockout solenoid.

Not the reversing light switch.

Well it looks like you have a much bigger job than me Sturdy, I hope mine does not turn out like yours and the gearbox has to come out but anything is possible.with my luck. The guy would not post the switch to the Isle of Man so i had to get it sent to my sister in Glasgow, absolutely ridiculous the postage is the same price to here on small parcels.

Hello Mr Hunter, I passed your place last week and your Monaro is still looking nice and shiny. Still got the Ute, hoping to get some new bits bolted on in the next few weeks and maybe get it out for a run. It's been a while since it's been out.
