My check engine light is coming on every drive now after couple of minutes does not affect drive and pressing mode button removes message (previously light would come on randomly and enter limp home this could be cured by switch off and restart)
Had codes read today P0332 knock sensor 2 circuit low input bank 2 & P0689 ecm/pcm power relay-sense circuit low, cleared codes but light came back on instantly.

So I'm thinking either a faulty relay or knock sensor? car had sat for 18 months and has had new battery since coming out of hibernation.

Anybody had similar problems?

After my car had been sat 18 months I had a few of those intermittent check engine warnings that didn't show any codes and could be cleared by pressing the mode button. I think there must have just been a bit of moisture somewhere that dried out as literally after a bit of time idling on the drive and a couple of short runs out they didn't come back.

For the bits that are throwing a specific code i'd try have a look at the sensor / connected wiring first and make sure nothing is obviously loose / damaged first!

chafed wiring is a known issue , plus damp as mentioned above , i think you maybe lucky as your sensors are on the side of the block , the ls1 appears to be in the middle of the block

I've heard about the chafed wiring issue but I assumed it was only the the left hand drive Pontiac GTO that suffered this fault.
If it applies to our cars have you any idea how to check the wiring harness?

the way it was said re the wiring was a visual check and pull back the protective sleeving to do this

Update..........
Well I checked for chafed wiring all good, removed the 3 ecu plugs and cleaned all connections, and swapped the ecu relay for another in the fuse box labelled spare.
The result...... Drove car Saturday all good parked up couple hours drove home all good no warning lights on got home switched off opened garage and on restart check engine message came on but went off as I went into garage, this used to happen before ages ago but as it only seems to happen when I'm garaging not too bothered.
So overall seems good may have just been a dodgy relay. thumbup
