Omega door handles.
Discussion
Just sharing my thoughts and findings.
I fitted a set of Omega door handles and rods to the beast yesterday.
I will confirm that they are a direct swap, but the Omega rods are needed.
It is an easy enough job, just a tad fiddly, but this because the whole job is a learning experience.
They definitely feel better, being metal. They feel stronger and far more durable, they shouldn't flake or peel like the originals often do due to flex.
A good simple mod IMO, especially if yours are peeling and need to come out for paint.

All was well inside my door voids, no corrosion whatsoever, just dirty!
TBH, I'm impressed by the overall condition of the car after 17 years and 80k miles. As you know, I'm having it painted, and I'm removing as much of the trims and furniture as I can (dining room is full of Monaro!), and its coming apart very nicely. Good simple durable cars.

There's a chap (Gary Marchant) on the FB HSV VXR8 and Monaro page who sells sets readily painted, I picked up a pair for mine for when the time comes to swap, he does a very nice job of painting and colour match is excellent.I fitted a set of Omega door handles and rods to the beast yesterday.
