Looking to buy

Hi, looking to buy a Monaro, having a look at KE06 CNF tomorrow, anyone know the car?
It's black with most of the upgrades, incl a 500 bhp retune.
Any information would be appreciated

I've seen the advert, and it looks like a decent car. Although a bit low for my liking so be sure to check the under belly and such best you can.
IMO, its unlikely to have anywhere near 500bhp with just an exhaust and map, so unless its had a cam/head work or similar take that with a pinch of salt.
MOT history looks nice and clean.

Thanks very much. The seller says he has all the receipts etc to cover the mods so I'll see what they show.

mines on coilovers and i had to higher it up as the exhaust used to catch also unless camber is adjusted it wont drive nice
Buy on condition and history ,also speaking to the owner reveals a lot ,what he cleans it with how he uses it etc etc

Yeah, the advert states Wortec exhaust and headers + remap to suit. This would not achieve anymore than 450bhp absolute max and that's generous. 430/440bhp is more realistic.
How low is too low? Personal preference and practicality will answer this. Some people don't care if the car scrapes its front bumper over ever speed hump, or catch the exhaust. I do. Also consider if you will be 4 up a lot or mainly just the you in the car.
Nothing that can't be sorted though, and the car otherwise seems good.

Consider your driveway / garage access / angles too!
I once brought a car home, only to find it wouldn't go into the garage unless I used bits of wood to help the bumper clear the slope. Soon binned those coilovers.

My Chim bottoms out occasionally on B roads, and have to slow right down for speed bumps.

Had a good look at the car and paperwork, and a good drive, yesterday.
Bodywork is straight, paint good, interior good, under bonnet good, underneath good as far as I could see.
Drives really well, it's got the quickrack, the controls are all positive, picks up smoothly in any gear at any speed.
Def no cam or head work, so probably a fairly small power increase as suggested, doesn't seem lacking in get up and go.
What's not to like? Had an offer accepted.

I sold this Monaro to Joe back in Jan 2018. Nice guy and good car then. Haven't seen it for 2 years
It was around 430-440 bhp with full Wortec exhuast
Not sure whats been done to it since to get to 500bhp. If its not cammed etc i doubt it pushing high 400's
Price is pretty good for what you are getting
Think its been looked after by Carl Herkes in Southampton
The car was originally supercharged until 2017 when car was reverted to NA spec. I bought it already back to NA spec in Dec 2017

Seems like the 493 bhp shown in the spec was from it's s/c days, not put in by the seller.
Anyway, 400+ is plenty and it sounds awesome.
