Hi, i have fitted a water temp sensor to my vxr8, but I am still getting the warning on the dash, before fitting the sensor it showed the warning, contact dealer and the engine symbol, now it just displaces the engine symbol, any help would be appreciated.

Probably worth getting the codes read and see why the light is still on. Maybe it just needs resetting?

Yes I'd agree, probably just needs the fault clearing from the memory.
