2006 CV8 Monaro, currently at around 58k kms / 36k mls.
After lots of calls and paperwork, I managed to get it insured via a special exotic/future classic car policy, which reduces my annual insurance premium by about 75%,
but limits me to 7000 kms / 4300 mls per year, and requires me to do a lot of other stuff, like always park it in the garage, keep it as original as possible,
always have a second car insured with them as my daily, only person allowed to drive the car is me etc.
So mainly rules that I am more than happy to oblige to
I could in theory increase the mileage limit to a maximum of 9000 kms / 5600 mls per year,
though I think I will stick to those 7000 kms for the foreseeable future, as it seems like a good way of keeping me from
putting an excessive amount of miles on the car, or do other "dumb" things with it.
I mean I would seriously love to road trip my Monaro all across Europe, but I know if I truly want to keep it forever,
I will be better off in the long run if I only drive it about once week, and ofc keep it off the road during winter!
Every time I do eventually take it out on a sunny and warm weekend morning though, I drive it at least two hours / 80kms.
Very much looking forward to being able to do that again, the car has been in winter hibernation since November 8th, but hopefully I can start off into my first full Monaro season sooner than later.
So it is unlikely mine will reach 100k miles anytime soon, but we'll get there eventually
And I am so looking forward to every single one of those 7000 kms per year!

My 2001 omega mv6 has 232K on the clock. I git it in September 2016 with 163k on.the clock, and this time last year it had 231k on the clock...... it's not a Holden, but i feel sure the door handles are from.the same parts bin..
I bought a black pre face lift Omega MV6 years ago with 10k on the clock. I sold it 6 years later at 65k to help fund my Monaro. My 2001 omega mv6 has 232K on the clock. That Omega was a fantastic car and highly under rated, it's no surprise that I regret selling it to this day....

I worked at a met police workshop around 2001. ALL of the mv6 omegas they had ended up with porous heads. That Omega was a fantastic car and highly under rated, it's no surprise that I regret selling it to this day....

I have heard of that problem but only recently, that does sound a bit terminal !My car did suffer constant tyre wear on the inner front wheels, I had the car to various tyre outlets to fix it but without success.
Oddly enough a guy who worked in the North Yorks police workshop fixed the issue for me straight away, top bloke.

Just wondering if you use it as a daily runner, do you have less problems with the car than we others that spend a lot of time not running them much. ie electric glitches due to battery not charged dailyAde

Just wear and tear, luckily my step son owns his own garage and with this car he is now an expert with these cars lol. IMO cars are made to drive, love everything about these cars, always wanted one and got the opportunity in 2014 and not looked back. Never had any electrical issues.Ade
