Hi all been watching vintage voltage for a while now, kinda like what they do, maybe one day they might do a Monaro (not mine)

The power of a EV is undisputed, but the problem I have in most cases owners who have the conversion done, aren't shouting from the roof tops at the end.

Cost aside could it be the position of the batteries as in not across the base (thinking Tesla Layout) or could it be these conversations simply don't tick the box, I would like to try one, any conversion would do.

Debate please, there is no doubt EVs will dominate performance wise moving forward.

Already a thread about this show over here, might be worth raising the question there?

How many people on here still have the original exhaust?

That would probably cover how many would consider an EV conversion hehe

For me, it would make the car totally pointless.

^^^ Agree. The Monaro for most, is about the daft V8 up front making a load of noise out the rear.
The conversion are silly money too from what I've heard.

A retrofit conversion is always going to be worse than a dedicated from the ground up install.

It will be harder to install a suitable motor, it will be harder to find room for enough batteries, etc etc. Plus the car will likely end up heavier for any relative battery/motor size simply because of the compromises made.

For some cars I can see an appeal, but they will be even less practical than a OEM battery car, as they will have less range, less power

It is a case of just buying a properly built battery car, In many respects if it ever appears, the Tesla roadster will be great value, or even the full size Plaid S.
The Lucid is also a nice looking car.
