New battery - never crancked faster...

But left undriven for two weeks snd immobiliser (presume) has flattened it completely - can't even open the doors!

Not sure if possible, but if you can get access to the starter from under the car you can get power to the battery from its main connection as this is direct to it. Any decent bit of chassis will serve as the earth. Should at least get the doors open.
Take it the manual door lock is seized?

That's exactly what I'll have to do... not sure if i can get at the starter without having to remove undertray though ...

Why such a big drain on battery just from an alarm though?

If this helps, Monaro locks are very stiff to turn with the key when the battery is flat. Turn with slow, steady pressure. It will feel like the key will break but have faith. Turn drivers door lock clockwise almost 90 degrees to unlock.
Twist the key by holding it near the metal key blade.
This very situation has been on the forum before.
This happened to me a few years ago and yes, the key is very stiff to turn.

Agreed happened to my Monaro too. It’s a leap of faith job but it works.

Just to be sure, have you made sure there aren't any interior lights stuck on - boot light? What about any potential aftermarket music components that may drain the battery?

mine an r8 and monaro with a good battery and a good charge , on the monaro a standard alarm upgraded to a cat 1 ( so in theory a non battery draining alarm bolt on ) plus a tracker battery life is 7 days to 10 days max on a full charge , same set up on the other cars a week max before they are flat , it’s worth putting some wd40 in the lock on and off makes opening them a lot easier

The battery on my Monaro always struggles to start if It stands for around 10 days or so. I usually just disconnect the battery terminal if I'm not using it.
As for the door lock I do lubricate it it now and again and I make sure the key actually turns the lock. The first time I tried the lock it had seized.....not a pleasant experience...I was convinced the key would snap. Thankfully I've had no problems since.

I'll send you a PM. The Monaro went completely dead in the summer and I was in the same boat. Only down the road from you as well but sodding tier 4!

Thanks Dom -

Replied . For some reason my drivers door lock has been changed in the past so my ignition key never fitted - not a problem when the remotes worked!

Tried again yesterday morning and the door unlocked (!) so popped bonnet to fully charge the battery...

But I'm starting to wonder if the problem lies with the key fobs now (though in the one I could open the battery was above 3v)...

I had a similar issue, turned out to be the immobilise/after market alarm so stopped setting the secondary alarm - still immobilised but no more problems. Currently looking to get it replaced.
