Anyone on here help with my problem.
Basically my 5.7vxr has developed a non starting problem which my local garage reckon is linked to the immobiliser ecu or such like.
Car will start sometimes, sometimes it wont,
Ecu was" sent away" to get sorted,
It came back and ran for a day and same problem appeared.
Garage reckons it is an immobiliser/ecu fault and needs a new control module ??.
Anyone out there had similar problems or can help.

Thanks.

have you tried your spare key , or soldering a new battery in your current key , also try key in the ignition , turn ignition on push unlock button on the fob and try starting it , is the key symbol flashing on the dash ?

Hi mine had the exact problem and Roger at monkfish informed me that the immobiliser and alarm had stopped talking to each other. The remedy was that Roger linked his laptop to the car and basically disconnected the immobiliser electronically. The alarm still works but according to Roger it would have cost an absolute fortune to put right which would have needed a partial loom refitted. It took Roger 10 minutes on his laptop and all I have now is the small red warning light on the dash illuminated all the time , I can live with that as I didn’t want the alternative.

Thanks for the replies.
No after market immobiliser on it ,still standard.
Have tried all combinations of fob battery, fixes to no avail.
Looks as if a call to Ex Monkfish Roger might be the way to go.

My car is a 5.7 vxr as well so possibly a problem with the earlier technology. From what I could gather the alarm and immobiliser are built in together and synchronise with each other all the time using the same electronic pathways that’s why it was going to be expensive. Anyway good luck Roger should be able to sort it for you.

Mine would fire, run for 2-3 seconds then die. It turned out to be a key issue. You could do a lot worse than contact Carl Herkes.

Pulled into a gas station once, filled up, went to start car, won't start. Tried a jump, nothing. pulled out relay for starter, put back in, started. Same thing happened a time or two. Turned out to be the battery terminal wasn't done up tight enough. Hasn't happened again.
