Long tube headers.

I've got Wortech long tube headers fitted to myVXR8, these are made of mild steel and are a bit rusty.
Can I buy stainless headers? If so where can I buy them and get them fitted?
I'm looking for a supplier in the south.
You could feasibly get them ceramic coated or something (for maybe similar cost), would give some options with regards appearance and keep engine bay temps down...?Can I buy stainless headers? If so where can I buy them and get them fitted?

Standard suggestion nowadays is LS Performance, they offer some Ramjet (I think) long tubes which mate up to the standard catback location, unsure if they'd as such be a direct swap with the Wortec ones...

Hi Leigh, I thought that all of the wortec exhausts were made from 304 stainless. My car has had a full Wortec exhaust since about 2009. It has some light corrosion on the outside surface, but it is more like staining than rust.
Do you have a picture to show how bad your rust is?
Hello Trevor haven't seen you post on here for a while, hope you're keeping well? as far as I know wortec headers o Monaros were stainless possibly LS2's in VXR8's were as well for some reason LS3's only came made from mild steel.Do you have a picture to show how bad your rust is?
All good here thanks Leigh. I have a look on here from time to time, but its so quiet now.
Didn't realise the LS3 exhaust would be different to the LS2, thought that only the inlets were a different shape. A couple of people have put LS3 heads onto LS2 blocks so presumed they were the same.
Looking forward to doing some roadtrips next year, Covid allowing. NC500 is on the list.

These manifolds are about 10 years old. Corrosion on the flanges is worse as these are mild steel, the pipes are 304 stainless and also have some corrosion which is to be expected (so I am told) with this material. The car is garaged which does help reduce the problem.
I didn't think that yours looked too bad for there age.
I was hoping that Roger or Andy might have commented as they still look in from time to time.
I saw the NC500 trip on here but already had commitments for the dates. There was another trip planned on the Boxster forum in September this year which was also cancelled, now provisionally in May 2021.
I will see how it goes in the New Year. Another Spa/Ardenne run out would also be good.

If another Spa trip comes up I'd be interested.I will see how it goes in the New Year. Another Spa/Ardenne run out would also be good.
I'll message you if anything comes up on the NC500 for next year.

Probably but I always wanted stainless headers.
Most exhausts are made from a low grade stainless. If it sits about a lot in the wrong conditions, they will tarnish and in some cases show some corrosion.Just the way it is really unless you buy ones made from top quality....which would be custom made.
Or wrapping with heat wrap tends to corrode them earlier too.
If it really bothered you, you could remove them and they could likely be polished up again.
