One piece prop
Discussion
Not fitted one, but from what ive read the one piece is quite long for a prop shaft and suffers from harmonic resonance mean you get vibrations.
Additionally due to the length, the diameter has to be quite large to maintain the strength this means that the single piece propshaft can get very close to the rotational speed limit. Think it can exceed it with the 3.9 diff
Finally, a one piece would be cheaper to make so you need to ask why holden fitted a more complicated and expensive 2 piece.

From what I remember there are two basic types, alloy and carbon fibre.
The alloy ones can transmit clunking noises from the diff. The carbon fibre version is obviously more expensive.
I think the main issue with these props is the possibility of them vibrating at high speed and possible breakage

Sturdy I believe has the Carbon 1 piece. I was talking to him asking advice the other day. From what he said vibrations won't be an issue until past 150mph. So not something you're likely to run into in the real world or most tracks without a serious power bump.

Yep, I have the CF one piece from DriveShaftShop in the states. If you're a member on the LS1GTO forum they give you a discount too, although £ to $ at the moment isn't hugely favourable...
I replaced mine mostly because the 2 piece centre bearing was hosed so you know, why replace when you can upgrade... I also thought perhaps a one piece would help with the clunking, but it made no noticeable change.
Vibration wise I have only had the car up to 150mph with the 1 piece fitted, it was fine at that speed.
It's a nicely made piece and fit with no quibbles whatsoever, easy job.
