I know I’ve posted quite a lot recently, and now I’m pretty much on top of things with my R8. It has been a long road since buying it in Jan this year.
The latest thing to crop up is the indicator. More and more often when indicating right the relay operates at the normal rate, then after about 2 seconds suddenly goes fast, just like when a bulb is out , it then goes back to normal , so obviously not the bulb. Only does it when indicating right? Works perfectly when indicating left? ?

Could this simply be a relay issue? If so where is it located and what colour is it?

Thanks

I am afraid I am not much help except to say it happens on my left turn indicator in cold weather only. That said I have noticed if I am braking the light flashes normally until I stop braking.

Hope you get it sorted.

It's a common problem. You can get a resistor to put into the the electrics which helps.
I had the same problem the resistor stopped it for a while but the fast flashing came back, you can also take the light apart and resolder the light.
Or do what I've done ignore it

I seem to recall that R8's had issues with their indicators. There was was a fix for this, I think it was a small section of wiring that needed to be replaced.
I would give Walkinshaw a call or even Pedders UK speak to Roger or Andy and see if it's the same issue.
I'm not sure if you're on Facebook, but some owners on there may be able to shed some light on the matter.

The fix involved inserting a wiring loom module with resistor at each rear light cluster.

I think Neil N.J.W. might have a couple of resistors.

Thanks

Not too sure on navigating round this forum and I don’t use fb. No idea how to search or contact other members unless they’ve already commented on a post.

Think I’m still stuck mid 20th century as I prefer pen and paper.

I have put a resistor in on my car, it hasn’t completely stopped it, but it has improved it.
