As above, they let the car down imo.

They are 19”s

The car is nickel silver and currently the wheels are silver. Not damaged or curbed, just oxidising in places and don’t do the rest of the car justice.

I’m not a big fan of black wheels but the car has the black stripe across the door bottoms. So many silver R8’s with black wheels, want to be tasteful but maybe a bit different. Any ideas or suggestions on possible colour?

I'm not a fan of black wheels either.
You could look at bright silver depending on how it contrasts with the body work? but I would go for a gunmetal or anthracite finish, and make sure the brake calipers are in good shape.

ive had 2 silver cars .. silver wheels look a bit lost.
and black hides any detail in the wheel and they blend into the tyre

personally id go a mid grey colour. ive dont that previously and they looked great imo

Shadow chrome don't look bad.

Good call, that’s what I was toying with. It’s a colour that seems to go with most cars imo

I agree with the above. Shadow chrome, or some sort of platinum silver works well.

I’ve just had mine powder coated in gloss black but it’s a metallic called Santorini. In normal light they look black but when the sun is on them the have multicoloured metallic flecks. I’m very pleased with them but then I love a black wheel!

Another vote for Shadow Chrome, if you live in the south Lepsons are in Kent and you'll not find a better company for wheel refurb.

black wheels look especially good on silver cars , easy to keep clean , not gloss it is too bright , but a bit of a satin or matt ish look , they set my monaro off very well , you can touch them up yourself and i have even painted a few sets up which came out well , locally to me a chap power costs for around 120£ a set

I like shadow chrome too, mine are black and it’s looks good up close but you loose the lines from a distance

I’ve just had my wheels refurbished on my (red) Monaro. I had the same dilemma - I didn’t want a full black but I wanted a change (they were shadow chrome funnily enough). After much discussion I went with a BMW colour called A90 “sophisto grey”. The paint has some pearlescent properties so it works well

Pictures are just with a rubbish iPhone so don’t really do it justice - but it’s basically a neutral dark grey with a bit of metal flake in the paint to lift it from a solid colour, so it does look a bit lighter in direct sunlight.

Lots of choices...! Good luck!

Looks like you’ve done the reverse of me. I went from a colour like yours to shadow smile...
