On the way back from a drive this evening I had the low coolant warning flash up for the first time ever, so I pulled over to check under the bonnet. I couldn’t see any leaks but the header was only half full. I pressed on very slowly towards home - stopping every few miles to recheck the level which remained steady. When I made it back home the coolant had dropped again and was at the bottom of the header tank but not totally empty, but the temp gauge remained steady all the way home. Now having lifted the bonnet again I can see the left side of the radiator is very wet and stinks of coolant.

Having just looked on eBay is this the correct type for an 04 CV8 - seeing as it says an 04 GTO?

Yes, that is the correct one for your car, and mine for that matter.

You will need to make a couple of small mods to make it fit because its a littie bit thicker.

remove a bit of the plastic surround at the top drivers side, and thin one of the fan supports where it crosses the bottom hose,

allow a bit more than you think, because the hose swells when under presure.

Yoss.

I wish I had seen this earlier, I have a brand new still in the box Mishimoto Rad for an 04 CV8 that I would like to move on.
It has a slight dent in one end, Mishimoto sent me a replacement one so this on is surplus.

If you still need one and are happy to have a small dent in one end drop me a PM.

I nice snug fit. It seemed a shame to cover it up with the top panel but now all back together and working as it should.
