Blue Ute, Paul was his name if I remember correctly, his friends Maserati was showing smoke from the engine bay so our chat was curtailed on the Muslane straight. Got pulled soon after for doing a burnout, breathalised too & let off with a warning to the crowds amusement, got lots of comments for having the best sounding car too.

the name was Bob and it was good to meet you. Funny how we parked so close together. Haven't had the ute for long. It definately needs more brakes tho. that series of roundabouts between rouen and allencon or somwhere or other caused a bit of fade and now I've got a vibration and pulsating pedal....

Yeah, 3.2 litres of fried twin turbod V8. Crappy italian electrics, fan wiring burnt out.

yeah, good to meet you Bob & sorry about getting the name wrong.

Yes brakes are the weak spot for all, well worth upgrading them.

Brakes are exactly the same on mine, lots of judder and it gets worse as they get hot. It only had new discs and pads last year as well!!!! Was toying with the idea of taking them off and getting them machined (faced off) with a local engineering firm, has anyone else tried this???????, if not anyone know a ball park figure for the uprated discs and does it require new calipers too?

ps you still up my way later this week Paul?

Mike - Thats exactly it. From cold the judder is much less. It squeeks from the right front (I think) too. When you replaced yours last year was it Ok for a while? I'm thinking of popping up to see Geoff at Hi Spec to see what he can do for the Ute in the brake dept.

Only just got the car but the previous owner said the brakes were good for a time. Still hoping someone can fill me in on prices for upgrades, my standard discs are only grooved and as heat is causing the discs to warp I presume the upgrades would be cross drilled as well as grooved???? Or maybe someone has had discs skimmed before and got a positive result, although I suspect this would only be a tempory measure????

I'm going to upgrade my pads to Bendix Ultimate pads. They get some good reviews in Oz and NZ.
FRONT - DB1331ULT
REAR - DB1332ULT
Fronts are $180 NZ, and rears $160 NZ.
