I recently posted on here that I was experiencing the cars revs increasing when I came to a stop or at a giveaway junction.
The general view of most seemed to be MAF sensor as the most likely culprit.

Having done a little research I found a number of recommendations for MAF cleaner spray. Feedback on certain products read very well with pleasing results.

I have purchased a good quality cleaner and having followed the instructions to the letter, there was a distinct improvement, however this lasted for less than a day, now back to square 1.

So as per title I’m guessing it needs replacing. Car drives ok, more of an annoyance value.

When mine was playing up I read pretty much the same things. Tried it and it worked for a few days and then back to square one. It was cheaper to buy from the states for me and the engine ran so much better afterwards.

Where from? Rick auto?

Did you just get one for LS2 or was it listed under Pontiac G8?

Having looked on rock auto site I don’t find it very user friendly?

According to my search, you need ACDELCO 19351885.
Weirdly though, the same part number comes up for both the 2008/2009 6.0LS2 and the 6.2LS3 however there is a $15 difference between the pages.
Maybe an email to them is required.
Search under exhaust & emissions within the G8 folder.
I am using a laptop not phone.

I have since looked on google re the other associated issues that I have with traction control and stability control switching off along with the annoying bing bing to see if they could be effected by a faulty MAF sensor. According to google the answer was yes. I also looked to see if a faulty MAF could also trigger 02 sensor faults? Again google suggested yes.
Quite excited by the prospect of getting it all sorted with a new MAF, I eagerly Placed my order with rick auto.
5 days later my parcel arrived and I’ve fitted the new MAF today. It is 100% the correct one, but disappointingly nothing seems to have changed, if anything I’m getting more and more annoying bing bongs with stability and traction control off. I’m near to the point of putting the old one back on.

Is there a procedure that I should have done first before swapping the old one out for the new one??

my issues were similar and an ht lead was the cause of the problem , option 2 a battery on its way out , a proper reset is by a obd port , on cars i’ve owned , battery disconnected then pump brake pedal about 30 times and leave it disconnected for about 30 mins

I have a brand new one that came from Oz if you are interested? Never used it because I went down the mafless tube route. £110 delivered. Totally surplus to requirements

Yeah, failing battery or unstable/high voltages (alternator regulator) are also possible causes of all sorts of odd gremlins.

Ok thanks, voltage regulators, are they something you can buy cheap over here or is it best to go via rock auto? Or is it new alternator?

I'm not sure if you can buy a regulator from RockAuto, but any decent UK alternator refurb specialist would be able to sort it for you.

speak to unit exchange in borehamwood herts they rebuilt my alternator at a very good price , i still think check battery unless your are getting voltage all over the place and therefore an alternator issue , the engineering mode should tell you current voltages before starting during driving etc
