I bought a genuine Holden key fob from Aus and after a month of travelling it arrived this morning. Was thinking of swapping the blade over from my old key but looking for advice on how to program it.

Seen the guidance for turning the ignition on and off umpteen times but people who’ve tried it say it doesn’t work. Is the only way to use Tech 2?

Swap the blade over and then get it reprogrammed.

I tried the manual method too, it didn't work for me.

Used a lady in Rotherham to program mine.

Hi wormus,

I did the same thing and bought a couple of new keys from Holmart for my 04 CV8. I took them to two places in the midlands that claimed to be able to program any key and both failed miserably.

I didn't fancy a drive to Rotherham so ended up getting them programmed at Walkinshaw's when I had the LS7 clutch fitted. I think you need a tech2 to do it.

All the best.

I bought a new key from Vauxhall and they said we can program it for x amount so I followed the advice on here and it worked. Try it first then if it doesn't work get it programmed. Oh 06 Monaro.

Nothing. Just the battery is getting a bit iffy so bought a new fob from eBay. Don’t fancy destroying my old key to get the battery out.

Mines a VZ so will try the manual method first. Fingers crossed.

Timpsons shoe repair , could be another possible option too , newer scooby imports have a chip in the key they were one of the few places that could transfer the info from the key chip in to a new chip may work on a monaro ?
