Hello everyone,

First post on here but second Monaro owned so apologies for not saying hello sooner.

I need help with my Oil FIlter asap please. I have a 2004 CV8. I ordered a Comline EOF317 but the spindle is around 1mm too skinny for the filter thread.

The old one is off and I stupidly disposed of it already as I had this one waiting. I think I've got the rarer M20 type spindle which apparently you can get a Citroen alternative for easily?

Anybody able to help?

from google ?? the one you have does not seem fit the ls1 but i maybe wrong , it seems to fit the ls2 , i’m not sure from your description what the issue is you are having , are you north or south london ? i’m north ish , i should have a few new oil filters sitting around for the 2004 ls1 cv8 monaro , i would order them through rock auto and buy a few plus a collection of service parts like plugs and leads next time

Hi

I have the same model 04 cv8, picked up a genuine GM filter No 92142006. from a Vauxhall main dealer.

I think for under £10...

Search shows

However....your GM part number references to a 13/16" threaded filter according to Wix. Which is same as a Rover filter I'd used.
Not 100% convinced that is correct for a Monaro which pretty sure used Metric.

But measure the threads sticking out of the sump first.

local 13/16" rover filter might have been Comline EOF-003 or equivalent.

Will check in garage later.

Unfortunately my Local Vauxhall dealerships are closed so it's all a lot of guess work but I think I've got the 13/16 thread now. Going for the EOF003 as recommended by Stevieturbo

Thank you all for the help, seems like I'll be posting in here a little more often, I'll get some car pics up when I get her finished.

WIX WL7142 is the Imperial threaded LS1 filter. The EOF003 is slightly taller and wouldn't fit under my undertray....

They're both the same filter/fitment.

Any apparent differences are purely down to manufacturer

WL7142 cross references to EOF003

As above , via rock auto , i buy three oil filters for maloo and three for the monaro plus normally a set of plugs each, as it makes delivery more cost effective , and i always use acdelco filters , they are really quite cheap it’s only shipping plus import cost that puts it up a bit , but still probably cheaper than the uk prices

WL7142 for £2.19

I cant imagine any filter from the US being cheaper than UK prices.

i agree the uk one is cheap , but by the time you buy a quality filter plugs etc and ship it all over it works out much better , even a set of good plugs are less than half the price of a uk similar set of plugs , but with rock auto always use the fed ex route so you get a final price plus quick delivery

Regular copper plugs are circa £2-3 each in most cases.

If you want platinum or iridium, they can be from around £6-7 upwards.

How much are they from the US ?
