No, not on the autobahn or something! Used mine for the first time in a week to do the shopping. Going round a bend at about 30 mph, I glanced down and noticed the speedometer reading 200 (full deflection) eek

It then went back to normal after a few seconds. No other warning lamps so it's not the ABS speed sensor (if that is used as source signal?). It didn't do it again on the way home so i wonder if it was just a glitch. Would it be an instrument cluster issue or the speed pick up sensor? I'm unsure where it is.

I've done a search and can't find any other posts about this.

Many years ago there were a few owners of 04 spec cars reporting that their speedometer would read 200mph when they actually weren't!!!
If I remember correctly it was a software issue and fixed under warranty. If it turns out this is your problem you could try giving Walkinshaw Performance a call to see what they say.
It might also be worth giving Wortec a call as they know the Monaro inside out.

Mine did something very similar last year. But when I stopped at the garage for fuel and restarted the engine it corrected itself. Been ok since!

Yes, my car has done this once. Driving home from a mates house, the speedo was bouncing around all over the place.
All other dials were fine. It hasn't done it since, I'm not worried. Its character!!
Obviously if its doing it more than once a blue moon, it will require investigation.

Thanks all. I'm barely using it at the moment anyway.

I entered the engineering mode after getting home but no errors came up, and it deflected to 70 as it should. I'll watch out to see if it happens again.
