I'm thinking about ordering parts from Rock auto and possibly Autozone if they export to the UK?
I'm just wondering if the parts are likely to get lost in transit since the Coronavirus seems to be closing the world down?
Has anybody been told otherwise?

I would think freight will still be sent still other wise things will really start grinding to a halt globally.
I have just ordered an S1 shifter from Oz on Friday which is being shipped on Monday.

Cheers, let's hope things still keep ticking over until it's all sorted out.

I use rock auto regular. Never had an issue.
Pay using the FedEx option all taxes paid at source..cheapest option other wise royal mail get involved if you use post option.
Pay attention to which warehouse parts come from..sometimes have to swap about brands for best deal

Don't get excited, I just need to fix my aircon compressor and order some bonnet struts.
If we have a national lock down for months on end It's going to be pretty pointless to tax it, so it's staying in the garage.
Mind you next year....I might even get to drive it....

Ah, boring stuff. Still good to keep the car tip top.
I've got new bonnet and boot struts waiting to be fitted. smile

Situation changing daily (hourly?), but my Rock Auto order <2 weeks ago arrived quickly. I placed order on Thu 12th and it arrived Tue 17th March! Not bad at all.

Only boring/essential stuff unfortunately.

Ah, boot struts. mine are ineffective and I've scoured the threads. The ones at SGS suggested (GSC2721) get mixed reviews, and when you go to their website, it states on the specification tab that are for the Insignia (?). Which would be too long:

GM parts giant has them at $54 each:

Rock auto shows several choices. The Ultra power ones are cheap, are they nasty? There's also AMS, strongarm and AC Delco. Any preferences?

I’ve got the SGS ones. They fit and they work - although I reckon they could do with being higher force, might just be a VXR thing (extra weight of the big spoiler). Mine now at least stays up when open fully but anywhere in between it still closes down.

Got the above on mine and they work well. Hold the boot up from about half way and will spring it open to the top from there with a gentle push.

I have fitted these struts to the Monaro yesterday and confirm they are spot on it terms of fit and function.

I only say this because I have bought struts for other cars in the past and found they are poor in terms of fitment e.g. imagine the feet of the bonnet struts that bolt to the inner wing having the holes in the wrong place!
These ones are perfect.
