Monaro cv8 braided brake lines
Discussion
If you're after replacing the rubber flexible hoses, I bought the Russell braided ones.
There are two front and four rear hoses in the pack.
The flexible fuel hose is also made by Russell. This fits on the passenger side from the fuel rail to the metal hard line next to the bulk head.
You will have to buy or make a plastic tool to disconnect the factory hose. Bleed the fuel rail off first to stop petrol being sprayed all over the place.
These are / were available from AAS in Newcastle.
The metal hard lines will have to be made up as they are not available as a ready made kit for our cars.
Some on here have said the rear subframe has to come off to do the job, but others have managed without the hassle.
Don't forget to use a proper brake spanner, it will save you a world of pain when removing the nuts on the metal lines.

A while back, the Hel branded flexi lines look good but the front pair didn't come with the bracket that anchors the pipe to the car body behind the MacPherson strut.
I removed the clips from the old hoses and had them powder coated then fitted the new hoses held in with clips. These are the clips I used part number GM 90498320 readily available from dealers or online Hi Andy , when i spoke to aas they could not source any braided lines as the usual suppliers were on back order for 2 months , i do have a standard set ordered but prefer braided and i am now awaiting contact from suppliers but it sounds like it maybe hard work to get any , but cheers for any ones help or advice
04 CV8 should be the same as a VT-VYII commodore (late 1997 to mid 2004) Even most of the VZ Commodores would have the same.
Only the VZ SS-Z Commodore had the same brakes as the VZ Monaro sent to the UK.

This one is specifically mentioned for the earlier Monaro, but I'm not sure what the difference is, between this and the above.

cheers for the above info , the 04 is different to the 05 and 06 , i don’t know in what way , the 04 is 6 pipes i think the newer cars are four pipe plus different calipers
Correction: Both '04 and '05 models, regardless of CV8 or VXR, need 6 flexis. The 2 extra hoses are for nearside and offside rear suspension swing arms to the subframe.Gassing Station | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
