I had my vxr8 undersealed in 2010, does it need redoing or will it still be ok ?

I certainly give it a good examination and perhaps touch up if required.

I guess like lots of things with cars, the amount of miles and bad weather exposure in the last 10 years will have a massive impact on how the underneath is holding up.

Annual touch-ups are good practice if you're serious about keeping the tinworm at bay. Waxoyl and paintbrushes are cheaper than having new floors welded in!

I think it's very much on how you use the car. If you use it during the winter I would expect to have to touch it up every 5 years max. I would also hose off the salt whenever possible during this time.
I go a bit OTT and inspect my car every year, I generally leave it to the summer months as that's the best time to apply any rustproofing if needed,
So far it seems to be working OK.

Thanks for the replies. It's going in for servicing Saturday I'll have a look underneath it then.

I check all my cars yearly , mot is a good time to have a look , and touch up if needed , dinitrol spray is very good , and better than the waxoyl i used to use , i get four cans of dinitrol on ebay comes with a spray can adaptor plus i buy a cavity pipe too , comes to around 65 £ delivered , the other benefit it dries hard where as waxoyl does not plus the cans and nozzles do not dry out

Annual oil change is the ideal time to touch up underseal. You're under there anyway so make the effort to keep your toy in good nick.
waxoyl and a paintbrush is cheaper than welding in new floorpans.

I recently had mine comprehensively treated with Dinitrol and the recommenced checks are every 2-3 years.

Excellent job done there on the undersealing. Who did it for you and where are they based?

Was done by pro-tect services in Tingewick near Milton Keynes. They did an amazing job.

Could I ask what sort of approx cost. Very impressed by how uniform and smooth it is. I assume they took a few bits off to get behind things?

Sorry guys, just spotted this. It cost me just shy of £1200 for the complete treatment.
