Bought new left and right handbrake cables for my Monaro VXR as the old ones are seized up and not working.

Im trying to get the old cable out of the brackets on the rear suspension arms and it is impossible! Its essentially a thicker metal part of the sheathing that pushes into the bracket but its seized in solid. Ive even soaked it in WD40 overnight then hammered a flathead screwdriver at it for ages and no luck. I thought maybe bending the bracket out to free it is a good idea but it pretty thick metal.

Anyone done this successfully?

No5 i think looks like this and pops out

I think the one your struggling with is this one seen through the wheel

Id say more good quality penetrating oil and elbow grease should get it out.

is there enough play in the cable to unhook , or is it still under tension , when you get it off see if it can be freed up
