Hsv sting red paint
Discussion
Hi All,
I have a 2004 monaro vxr, and it's suffering from the usual paint flake issues on the door handles.
I've got some replacement metal ones from an omega, but they're in silver. Does anybody know where I can get hsv sting red spray paint from (F143?), or something close to it considering I've probably got 15 years of paint fade too. Wondering what they would look like just painted black, or carbon dip on them - anybody done this or seen pics anywhere?
Thanks.

And to save you reading it all:
62U or
F143 or
687F
Are all GM codes
A good painter should be able to match the doors.
Personally, not a fan of black handles, but hey it’s your car if you like it rock it!

May or may not help but HSV colours aren’t unique because they went down the same line as normal Holdens.
Sting Red is the same colour as Holden Red Hot and they’re both F143.
As far as I can tell based on some googling the difference in codes is because they moved to
Using clear coat to stop paint fade. F143 indicates it had clear coat, whereas 687F didn’t.

Might be worth considering a good detail first to rejuvenate the paint. It will a lot easier to match is the painter isn't trying to create what is essentially a faded colour. Red with a good detail should turn out well as the pigmentation of red is very prone to UV damage and this is what affects the colour and makes it look washed out. A good detailer will be able to work wonders and really restore the lustre and get out all of the dirt, UV damage and fade. I'd start with that before attempting to get a faded paint match
