Hey guys, just got to work and pressed remote to lock the car and got 3 rapid horn blasts and the interior light stayed on and the alarm/security symbol on the left of the instrument cluster continued rapid flashing.

I unlocked and relocked a few times and the same thing keeps happening. I have turned off the interior light on the button, but 3 beeps still happens every time I lock it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Its behaving like most cars do when there is a door/boot/bonnet not quite shut when the owner tries to lock the car.
Just check this out, open and close each door/boot/bonnet solidly just in case. Worth a try.
They might be closed already, but the switches might need a workout.
Also make sure your windows are tight up and sunroof if applicable is properly closed.

I have owned this car for nearly 4 years, you would of thought I would have done it before, d'oh.

The stupid thing is it was a rear door that I had just shut and it did look closed at first glance. it was open maybe 3mm max. at the bottom.

I feel such a fool.

No problem! Just glad for you that's all it is. Feeling a fool doesn't cost you any money!

Filling up at a servo one time. Went to start the car and it wouldn't start. Went back into to ask them to call a tow-truck.
Then went to sit in the car and wait.
Then I realised my hand eye coordination was out and I had put it in drive before starting it. What a wally!

No-start stories:

Sold a car once to an interstate buyer who transferred funds before seeing the car. Flew over, climbed in and went to start...nothing...face dropped...looked at me...I yelled out “press the immobiliser” - fired straight away and he smiled and drive it 8hrs home

I was thinking i needed to get the BCM fixed even going through the on board computer turning off all the auto features as was leaving lights and radio on ..................until weeks later i realised the door open button was a bit sticky , squirt of WD and a few flicks sorted
