Hi guys, been a few years since I was last on here.

A quick question, where do people get their spark plugs from?

I have a LS3 VXR8 and I used to get them from monkfish. I've just been quoted just under £30 each by Vauxhall!

Many thanks
Darryl

Not had to get a set yet but I’d go Walkinshaw, given they partner with HSV

very cheap from rockauto , pay the fed ex route they will normally be on your door 3 working days later , the fed ex route is what you pay as import and handling duties are included

That is what I have been doing but the few i have asked can't find them on their system or they need a part number as they can't find them using my reg no.

I have googled VXR8 spark plugs and as per usual I go to various pages that then don't have them.

I also looked on eBay but not 100% sure if they are genuine or good quality etc.

Unless you can be of any further assistance by giving examples?

Cheers
Darryl

Am I correct in that the website is rockauto.com? What does the vxr8 come under on the site as it doesn't seem to like 2009 Vauxhall vxr8 or similar searches.

Many thanks
Darryl

As a future suggestion, if you use RockAuto to find the relevant bits they'll give you part numbers.

You may well have more luck finding things like spark plugs by searching ebay etc. with the part number. They are just generic spark plugs after all.

Bear in mind if you're supercharged you may be running a different temp spark plug (can't remember if it's cooler or hotter getmecoat)

30 quid?!

Just go on to cheapcarparts4less.co.ulk and buy from there, I recently bought 8 iridium plugs for probably less than £100 quid

How cheap or expensive do you want ?

A basic BCPR5ES or BCPR6ES would be a basic cheap copper plug

Or for double platinum the likes of a PFR6B

Originals do use a crappy taper seat, the above is a normal plug with washer. Why on earth GM used the ancient taper seat is a mystery.

Coppers aren’t bad, they are good. As the ls is easy to work on, it makes sense to use them.

Use your hand to tighten with the bar then torque or half turn to seat.

cheers for the replies guys. I used rockauto to order 8x NGK iridium for just under £53.

I tried cheapcarparts4less but they didn't find any parts to fit my vehicle.

many thanks again

Glad you sorted it, they won’t on the Reg but if you know the parts always worth a look.

If you buy from europarts always go back to 4less as same company but half the price

Taper seat plugs are for iron heads, your car shouldn't have come fitted with them as standard. Ally heads use the crush washer seal.

Remember with new plugs and new crush washers. Tighthen, give them a heat cycle, then check all plugs, will likely find one has backed out.

ALL LS variants use taper seat from the factory.
