What's this chaps?

It sits above the passenger near the rear view mirror, poking out the head liner. Doesn't really look OEM.

It's the LED that casts the green glow over the interior at night, totally OEM thumbup

Seriously? I've never noticed it before. What turns it on? The sidelights?

ETA: Sussed it. This 'mood' light that I've never noticed before comes on with the ignition.

Bet its a VXR / HSV thing then since it doesn't look overly OEM. Since its mainly a fair weather summer car, I don't drive it much in the dark so that might explain why I've not noticed it before.

Interesting. Nothing like that on my car that I can see (a 2006 LS2 VXR).

How very strange.
So we've got my 5.7 VXR that has one and Sturdy's 6.0 VXR that has one.

The plot thickens! scratchchin

Could it be later builds don't have it?

Or that the special and best ones do?beer
Have to say though, its a waste of space, its just not noticeable primarily because the climate control panel and dash lighting totally over power it with their bright lighting.

My Omega had a mood light, inset in the bottom of the rear view mirror. Only in the darkest conditions could you see its effect. It worked so well you never noticed it giving just enough light to see the center console when it was properly dark.

My CV8 doesn't have this, but I will check my mirror casing later.

As someone who has changed all of the climate control / dash lighting to blue, I can assure you the green is still noticeable hehe

It looks like people have wondered about this before. No explanation though why some cars have it and others do not.

Your registration year has nothing to do with the cars actual build date though, you could still have one of the earlier LS2 cars. What's the build number and date on the HSV badge under the bonnet? My previous LS2 Ro was a 56 plate but was built in 2005.

That is true, totally forgot - 2005 some time.

Maybe the wrong forum thread - but any idea what this is - never seen one on UK roads though it looks very tasty, found the test whilst searching through a pile of old car mags.
Anyone on here own one? - or know where I could get onesmile
