That quite possibly could’ve been me (my number plate is VU08) I was on my way to Itchen to see Carl Herkes and Luis Sola to get the car remapped and was around there at that sort of time. I haven’t been round that way for a while, can’t believe how manic the traffic was !

Hi Gaz7970
Yes traffic in Southampton is a joke nowadays. I try to drive outside of the rush hour time but can't always avoid it. What exhaust do you have ?

Hi 99PBATR
I had 3 Manta hatcbacks and one Manta coupe. Still like them to this day not so fast but great road holding in the day.

It’s abit of a mix and match to be honest with Wortec headers, X pipe and Walkinshaw back boxes, glad it’s made a good impression though biggrin

Great cars. I all but nearly bought an Opel Ascona 400 back in the day that needed a ton of work...blimey I wish I had now, as they are worth a small fortune. The 2.4 twin cam 16V lump is still one of my all time fave sounding engines. Not quick compared to modern cars but full of personality. Who can forget Russell Brookes, Jimmy McCrae, Bertie Fisher (RIP) and Austin McHale in the Manta 400 Group B cars...Happy days!! I was in the Opel Manta Owners Club back in the day too...fond memories smile

Although I don't own one I am still a member of the club, you are right great memories. Not getting the 400, that is a kick in the backside cry
