Has anyone got a flat piece of concrete where i could remove my gearbox to check the bearing for noise cause

I have flat concrete in my garage but i have just put everything back and that takes more than a day to remove and put back again and hardly any room

If it is faulty throw out bearing it will be nice to get part and fit in the same removal but i know i cannot expect to be able to do this

Everywhere slopes around my place and no concrete

Any help will be appreciated and apologies for asking such a favour

I am in Rushden Northamptonshire

I'm in Northampton, my drive is a bit slopey but there's flat areas? Does it need to be totally flat?

If the job overruns you're welcome to leave it on the drive, I could run you back to Rushden no problem thumbup

Would be more than happy to help out too, have done a fair amount of spannering on mine smile

Drive is secluded in the corner of a cul-de-sac, plenty of space, could also leave it in the garage if you'd prefer

Sturdy thank you

This would be such a help and thanks for your kind offers

If you would give a hand it would be so much quicker and easier also

I have transmission jack, jack and jack stands that i would bring up beforehand

I am thinking WC 29-8-19 so if ur working could do weekend 3rd/4th Aug When would suit for you

Some time in the middle of those two dates would be best just because I'll be off for two weeks (10th to 25th August) for factory shutdown?

If that's not doable then weekend of 3/4 would be fine thumbup

Ah OK, my mistake! Yeah I'm off work with no plans at the moment for those 2 weeks, although I do have a hankering to drive in to Europe for a bit so

Shall we say 3rd / 4th August then as that's lining up best? Driveway is tarmac, shoot me a PM and I'll ping you over some pictures or something. Garage floor is flat concrete but all the access would have to be forward / backward as although you can walk down either side it's not hugely wide...
