So....played golf this morning finished and put clubs in boot then went for beer. Back to car after an hour or so to find petrol dripping from rear offside which wasn't there an hour earlier. Drove home slowly and car was hesitating a bit then engine check warning came up! Been home for an hour or so and no more leak. Any one had similar experience or any idea's?

Any help appreciated as usual

Sorry I can't offer any specific help, but it will help others to know what car variant you have and if Monaro is it a big boot or small boot model.
Otherwise I'd be booking that in with a decent garage for investigation, regardless of the leak seeming to stop. I'm sure it'll be back!

Not much to go on, but my first guess would be a corroded fuel pipe. You really need to get under the car and trace the length of the fuel line, especially around the rear suspension area.

My tame mechanic is coming round to investigate on Monday so hopefully will be able to find the problem. Thanks for taking time to reply

Hmmmm....really odd. Still not leaking even after taking it for a good thrashing. Still gonna have it checked though

I know nothing about Monaros but could it be related to the heat we've had and expansion/ breathers?

Maybe brim the tank again if you haven't already, may help find any problems.

Have you tried looking at the fuel breathing lines, pretty sure these are on the drivers side just behind the rear tyre. The line may be perished.

Trying parking with one wheel up on the curb on the drivers side and get under with a torch (chock your wheels for safety.)
