Monaro instrument cluster question...

Hi.
It occurred to me the other day that my current 2004 LS1 VXR doesn't seem to do a system check routine on the instrument cluster upon start up and also there is no shift change warning at high revs. My LS2 VXR did both of these.
Do we know why this is and if I can have these features, not that I'm over bothered.
