Does anyone rermember the default fluid used when Monkfish fitted an AP kit (monaro)?

Seem to recall they elected not to use the AP 5.1 fluid supplied, filling with ATE super blue DOT4 instead, or am I mistaken?

TIA

Thanks very much. So we think that Monkfish originally filled the system with ATE DOT4?

Years ago I used the ATE super blue Dot 4 from MF, I then got the same brand from Euro Parts as they were just up the road from me. At that time I had standard brakes with MF performance pads.
I haven't seen Dot 4 super blue for a while now, so I went back to the factory stuff.
With the AP's I've been using their own brand Dot 5.1, which came with the big brake kit, but I think any quality Dot 4 will do for road use.
Having said that Dot 5.1 is probably better if you do drive like the "night rider" in a pursuit special.

Thanks very much John. Car had a safe trip to the Nurburgring filled with Motul racing DOT 4. Fresh set of MPSS (available again, so much more durable and safe in the wet than cup 2's) Surprisingly good around the circuit and impressed members of the party with much more dedicated machinery, just required quite a fair bit of relearning after a 5 year absence.

Great stuff on going to Nurburgring, I'd love to do that one day that's for sure.
It's good to know that an old school muscle car can still impress people.

Tyres really are a massively underrated part of a car for most, but in truth they are so critical.
Loads of folk running around in high end / powerful cars with a few years on them wearing ditch finders. My Monaro was bought running on cheap n nasties.
I recently replaced my daily Astra diesel budget tyres with Michelins and OMG the difference is unreal. I thought it was a really bad handling car with the budgets on (and it was), but with these Michelins it actually handles reasonably well for what it is.
