Any ideas? Main serpentine belt for the LS2, 6PK2030, appears to be a vectra and merc part too, but a part number search on ECP isn't giving me much...

Can order one easily enough but I'd like to play with the car today as it's had its first fire up with the new cam so I'm a bit keen...

I've got the main belt for my LS2 Monaro but I'm sure it's a 6PK1965. Its lightly used but you are welcome to it if you pop over this afternoon.

Yeah I got one from gsf in the end, the problem was finding where had one, as obviously nobody recognises a Monaro, and 6pk1965 meant nothing.

Turns out it's the same as an Alfa 147 2.0, so that can get you through the website car search to then see that they have them thumbup

6pk1995 is a universal part number for such a belt. Anywhere selling parts that doesnt recognise that....need choked with the belt.

6pk is the ridges 1965 is the length..

Problem with gsf and ecp is they work on reg plates. A decent local motor spares usually have better knowledge

Yeah I understand the naming, just the places immediately available (ECP, gsf etc) as you say can't figure out actual part numbers.

My local motor factors knowledge isn't great as so far I've managed to get by with the dumbed down versions smile

All sorted now anyway, and good to know it's a relatively common length.

Bit late but ECP sell on eBay and list the OE part numbers etc in the description, alongside their part number.

So you search for "6PK2030" and find this Dayco one - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233165805366.

That then shows the ECP product code of 202220345, which you put in their search to find https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/202220345

If you call them they can do this for you, esp as not all of their products are on eBay - but handy if you are in a bind.

You can use the same code for CarParts4Less if you can wait for delivery.

Does anyone know if its the same part for an LS2 VXR8, or what the correct length is?

I've just put the replacement engine in mine, with standard balancer (my engine had underdrive balancer so its belts are no good).

The engine I bought was fitted with a 6PK1936, it was so tight that the tensioner will be locked at the end of its travel if I replace it, it was running like that in its previous car.

The local shop says it should have the same, but thats clearly not right, although does explain why too short a belt is on there, if its the part the shop systems say.

According to Rockauto the same engine in the Corvette is 6PK1951, so I was going to give that a try, but this thread makes me think that maybe 1965 is correct.

I really need to get one tomorrow, and try running the car on Tuesday if I can get it all finished.

I bought one at 1950 long, which was the nearest to the Rockauto size readily available, it seems just right,

A Corvette is not a Monaro, and accessories may not be in identical places.

And by Rockauto...you arent seriously saying you bought a belt from America ? Assuming you are in the UK ?

It's fine if it comes with all the other stuff you need, at 1/2 the price the shysters here are charging.

Mine is a VXR8, and while I agree that it doesnt necessarily have accessories in the same place as the Corvette, the UK listed part clearly didnt fit properly, and the Corvette part seemed to be a length that would fit, so maybe it is correct. I did have a logical reason to check it and go for it.

No, I didnt order from Rockauto, although I was going to along with some other stuff because its cheaper than buying here.
In the end I bought the Corvette length part from the local shop and its fits exactly as I wanted, so it seems to have been a good strategy.

Sad but true is that you can buy almost anything like this from the USA and worst case it costs about the same as buying local.

I bought all my gaskets and seals from Rockauto, very cheap base price, and still a good price with duty, postage and VAT on.
