Hi.

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times before!
Where are you guys sourcing replacement brake discs for cars with the AP big brake kit?

I have found one site where they're available but was hoping to get them for a little less the £488 I've seen so far! eek

I have a 2006 CV8 and need new rear discs and pads.

Thanks!

Reyland motorsport
You might have to email them as the website has changed since I bought my discs and pads. http://www.reyland.co.uk/

You could also try Pedders UK.

Hi.

Thanks.
Pedders was the one site I found. I'm not knocking Pedders at all but I was rather hoping to pay a bit less than that for rear discs and pads for a Vauxhall, haha!

(I know it's not a normal Vauxhall and has uprated brakes, but even so!).

I know what you mean about the prices for AP's, but I doubt you would find cheap AP brake discs anywhere!!!!
The AP big brake kit was designed specifically for the Monaro only.
I think you will get a generic front disc from Reyland, but the rear disc is a not so straight forward as they are particular to the Monaro.
Don't forget the new mounting bolts for the front bells.
Not mutch help I know but as I keep telling myself, "you have to pay to play"

Yeah, I kinda thought I'm probably just going to have to suck it up, but I wouldn't a bit of shopping around at that sort of price.

Thanks!

The discs themselves are generic AP racing discs for the Monaro kit are 362x32 and 12x215.9mm PCD ( Measured from a friends car...but you'd need to verify your own. )

But as I've always said, the actual AP Racing disc material is not well suited to road use IMO.

So some of these cheaper alternatives would probably be an actual upgrade for most users.

HiSpec also offer a range of cheaper discs too, although oddly in their AP equivalent range they stop at 356mm.

Or as per other threads here, there is the slightly smaller disc off a Range Rover or something that is an ok fitment....at a much more sensible price.

I bought a full DBA kit off peddars (front and rear discs and pads). I have happy with the fronts (which I changed myself), but not changed the rears out yet. Since I don't use the car a lot (weekender) its a god send to not have them corroding out from under me anymore. I would recommend.

Greg VXR,

Are you using the Pedders ceramic pads, if so what do think of them?

Not sure......I have just bought the AP equiv stuff from Roger. The fronts are pretty good. I'd say any performance drop wont be noticeable on the road tbh and I have never tracked it. I have some pics but they are all bigger than the 2 meg limit.

I suspect they will be ceramic pads, I think that's the only type they do for AP's.
Anyway I've just had a full set of pads delivered today so hopefully a noticeable improvement over the DS2500 pads.
It's a shame I have to wait until July to find out!!!!!!!
